Over the last couple of years, I have been the Design Lead of the Wellbeing and Safety module suite design, for FMG. This has included, content design, LX and UX design, animations, illustrations, and building the modules.
The focus on this brand and module suite was to take what’s traditionally seen as compliance-based learning and increase engagement; making health and safety modules “fun” rather than dry.
Traditional health and safety modules can be quite flawed in their approach; content can be a bit dry and is often aimed at having learners “tick the boxes” rather than think of how health and safety in their work environments applies to them.
For much of this suite of learning, I’ve changed the focus from compliance to scenario-based learning to encourage learners to think about how they would respond in various situations.
I’ve also taken the opportunity to experiment more with 2D animation and incorporate video-based learning into FMG’s modules.
