Learning Design

Learning solution design can be tricky as it’s not unheard of for digital learning to be considered as the bandaid for UX or UI design which could stand to be refined into a better product.

The following is an example of learning I created after a software update that had made the app in question trickier for users to navigate. The result of the update was causing confusion around how support tickets were being escalated to senior support staff to investigate.

I designed and developed a learning solution which would give users formulae they could use to think through the process of allocation. I used simple programming logic patterns as the basis of the concept:

If x = true, and y = false, then the allocation = z

I then built a basic allocation generator in the module for learners to play with and use to get their heads around the thinking. This was then reinforced with a series of scenarios in which users would have to choose how each scenario would be escalated (if applicable).
